SEPULTURA, ANTHRAX Members Perform 'Refuse/Resist' At Holland's ZWARTE CROSS (Video) - July 28, 2011

Fan-filmed video footage of members of SEPULTURA and ANTHRAX performing the SEPULTURA classic "Refuse/Resist" at the Zwarte Cross (Black Cross) festival, which was held July 15-17, 2011 in Lichtenvoorde, Holland, can be seen below.

SEPULTURA's Andreas Kisser filled in for ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian at 11 shows in July while Ian spent time with his family following the birth of his first child.

Kisser made his live debut with ANTHRAX on July 2 at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany as part of a "Big Four" show with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH.

In a letter addressed to Andreas on ANTHRAX's official Facebook page, the band wrote, "Words cannot express the feeling of love we have for you. From the first day, you were a part of the family. You were the only choice to fill in for Scott and that decision proved to be the right one. Thank you for being you, we miss you already. Have a great tour with the mighty SEPULTURA."

Speaking to RockAAA at the U.K. installment of the Sonisphere festival, Andreas stated about what it was like to receive the call asking him to fill in for Ian, "It was amazing. ANTHRAX… I mean, all the four bands here [METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX] are the DNA of my guitar playing. I started listening to them, the heavier music, and I wanted to play the same. They were my teachers. And to be here, it's just… I don't think even a dream. I [couldn't have] dreamt something like that to happen. And the good thing is it's a very positive situation. Scott is not sick, [he doesn't have a] a broken arm or something like that. It's very, very positive. It couldn't be better. So I'm very honored to be here, by these guys, and jam. We're having fun."

Added ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello: "Andreas locks in with the band like he was always here. So there's not a thought to playing; we don't have to worry. It's nice to go on stage and not have to worry. That's the last thing we wanted to do. And he's good, he's so locked in, even with the cues, the vocals — everything. Boom! It's ANTHRAX."

Ian and Pearl Aday, welcomed a son on June 19 at 10:19 a.m. Revel Young Ian, who came into the world three weeks early, weighed in at six pounds, nine ounces.

Ian previously stated that the choice to sit out the upcoming ANTHRAX shows "was a deeply personal one" but added that "becoming a father is the biggest, best thing that's ever happened to me and it made the decision relatively easy. My priority is with my wife and the birth of our first child."

Regarding how Kisser came to fill the temporary guitarist slot, Ian said, "We chose Andreas because we feel he can do the gig better than anyone. He has the fire, the attitude, and the crushing right hand to do the gig. I've played with Andreas at the Roadrunner 25th-anniversary show, and I've gotten up and played with SEPULTURA and we are kindred spirits. We both play every show like we're going to jail the next day, like it's the last show we'll ever play. He has what it takes and he has the experience and history to fucking bring it and make these ANTHRAX shows something special."

Ross também fez a arte original dos álbuns “We’ve Come For You All” e “Music of Mass Destruction”, ambos do ANTHRAX.
A canção "Earth on Hell" é um clássico do thrash ANTHRAX. "The Devil You Know" é melhor descrita como "um sulco AC / DC filtrada através de uma lente ANTHRAX", enquanto "In The End" tem um som épico, que foi a forma do ANTHRAX de lembrar o falecido Ronnie James Dio e Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott.

Amplified TV conducted an interview with ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante and guitarist Rob Caggiano at the U.K. installment of the Sonisphere festival, which was held July 8-10, 2011 at Knebworth House. You can now watch the chat below.

ANTHRAX's long-awaited 10th studio album, "Worship Music", is due in September.

ANTHRAX fans who have been waiting for the band to finally release new music, "Fight 'em 'Til You Can't", the first track available from the upcoming album "Worship Music", has gone on sale at iTunes. "Worship Music" is the first new studio album from ANTHRAX in eight years, and the first with vocalist Joey Belladonna since 1990's "Persistence of Time".

The "classic ANTHRAX-sounding" "Fight 'em 'Til You Can't" is a song about killing zombies, and is the one new track that ANTHRAX — Belladonna, guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, drummer Charlie Benante and bassist Frank Bello — has played live since they Belladonna rejoined the line-up a year ago. ANTHRAX offered the track as a free download last month, and fan comments in chat rooms have been overwhelmingly ecstatic.

In addition, ANTHRAX has revealed the CD cover artwork for "Worship Music". Renowned comic book artist Alex Ross, who has worked with Marvel Comics and DC Comics and is known for his "Marvels", "Kingdom Come", and "Astro City" illustrations, created the original painting for the cover. Ross also did the original artwork for ANTHRAX's "We've Come For You All" and "Music of Mass Destruction" albums.

The early feedback from press on "Worship Music" has also been simply stellar: Alexander Milas, editor of Metal Hammer called the album "a riff-shitting, fire-breathing, doubt-crushing monster of a record. Welcome back, boys!," while VH1/"That Metal Show"'s Eddie Trunk said, "This album is fucking amazing! Metal album of the year so far! Congratulations. Just killer."

The 11-track "Worship Music" was produced by ANTHRAX, Rob Caggiano and Jay Ruston and recorded over a four-year period at studios in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Belladonna's return to the band prompted some of the songs originally recorded to be re-crafted with fresh lyrics or tweaked to better suit his overall vibe and energy. Some of the songs were completely replaced with brand-new songs and, of course, all have Belladonna's inimitable vocal stamp on them.

"Worship Music" is loaded with stand-out tracks. While "Judas Priest" is a nod to the huge influence that band has had on the members of ANTHRAX and metal heads everywhere. "I'm Alive" is beautiful and grand with a build that demands audience participation. "Crawl" is dark and moody, and filled with a lot of the emotion and stress the band was feeling when it was written. "Fight 'em 'til You Can't" is a song about killing zombies, and who doesn't love a good zombie song? It's the one new track that ANTHRAX has played live since they started touring with Belladonna a year ago, and has been getting tremendous audience response. The song "Earth on Hell" is classic ANTHRAX thrash. "The Devil You Know" is best-described as "an AC/DC groove filtered through an ANTHRAX lens," while "In The End" is epic-sounding and ANTHRAX's way of remembering the late Ronnie James Dio and Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott.
